The Lewis and Clark Expedition of 1803-06 explored Eastern Montana via the meandering Missouri River in 1805, and then on the 1806 return trip Clark explored the colorful Yellowstone River while Lewis returned via the Missouri reuniting near the confluence of the Missouri and Yellowstone Rivers at the Montana and North Dakota border.

Plan a vacation to scenic, historic Eastern Montana. The majestic mountains belong to Central and Western Montana, but the mystical prairie belongs to Northeastern and Southeastern Montana. The purpose of this site is to provide Eastern Montana Awareness(TM). Awareness of Eastern Montana's historic sites and landmarks; i.e., history of preeminent military forts and trading posts, its Native American Indian cultural background, its homestead and cattle ranching lore, and the colorful badlands with its dinosaur fossil digs, and of its wildlife, fishing, boating, agate hunting and its camping availability.
