Broadus, Montana (MT)         a perspective of this hunter's paradise...

You're  in the heart of the famous Powder River Country when in Broadus, an area well-known for its mule deer and merriam turkey.   Resident hunters from Montana, and non-resident hunters from surrounding states, converge in Broadus during hunting season... and, for the vacationer, and their camera, during most anytime you will be able to "shoot" outstanding pictures of wildlife.   Maybe  a mule deer, antelope, or ring-necked pheasant, or maybe with luck, a wild turkey....

Broadus, along with its friendly neighbors' Biddle and "World Famous" Alzada, are the Southeast Entrance greeters to those visiting Montana.

In Broadus, for vacationers and residents, is the Powder River Historical Society Museum & Visitors Center.  It is open Monday through Saturday generally Memorial Day through September 30th.  The museum has a featured "old time store counter" from the early 1900 homestead period, a "chuck wagon box" complete with tin dishes and old stove that was taken on many a roundup, and Native American Indian artifacts, the old Powder River Jail Cell used from 1919 until 1980, and an arrow head collection that is one of the best, and many other displays.

You're in cattle country, and there is a Wagon Train & Cattle Drive that you can participate in for a fee during August.  Since you would need advanced information, suggest you contact the Powder River Historical Museum & Visitor Center for information.

There is lodging and restaurant availability in Broadus, but, do remember that Broadus is a small town so during the fall hunting season, and during the peak vacation travel time, it is suggested that you "roll into town early" to verify lodging availability.  As for dining, a good meal is always available.  Well, available during reasonable hours.
