Lewis & Clark Bridge (a.k.a. Wolf Point Bridge) is being preserved as a Historical Monument and Interpretive Site. The steel truss bridge was completed June 1930, and spans the Missouri River a few miles southeast of Wolf Point, Montana. This site has an interesting contrast of 1920's and current day bridge construction since the old and new are side by side. Open year around but watch for the snowballs in the winter....

SNOWDEN BRIDGE (below)
Near Fairview, Montana is the Snowden Bridge. This historic bridge is one of the few vertical-lift bridges left in the country. The bridge spans the Missouri River about 10 miles north of Fairview, and may be is one of the last bridges that was able to accommodate both rail and vehicular traffic in this country. The vertical-lift of the bridge is not operational at this time, and the bridge has been closed to vehicle traffic for several years. It continues to be used for rail transit by the BNSF. It is an interesting site to view. The vertical-lift is on the far right side of the below picture. The bridge can be viewed year around but as with the Lewis & Clark Bridge watch out for the snowballs during the winter.
