An eastern Montana homestead house located near Culbertson, Montana.
The land where this house stands was homesteaded in 1904. The house was built in three stages. The south half of the front frame portion being the original homestead cabin. The one-room dwelling served as kitchen, bedroom and living room. In the fall of 1907, the north half of the front frame section was built which enlarged the dining area and partitioned off two bedrooms. The third stage was a 15' x 15' rear structure built in 1909 made of cottonwood logs that became the kitchen.
