Visit Eastern Montana for its clear skies, rolling prairies, fields of grain, plentiful wildlife and colorful badlands. The majestic mountains belong to Central and Western Montana, but the mystical prairie belongs to scenic, historic Northeastern and Southeastern Montana.
Native American Indians for centuries have inhabited this land. Lewis & Clark in the early 1800's explored this land. Trading posts and military forts were built on this land in the early, and middle 1800's, then came horse and cattle ranchers with their cowboys, and then the homesteaders in the middle-to-late 1800's, and early 1900's, settling within this land. This is a land that symbolizes the history of the development of the great plains area of this nation.
This site is dedicated to the early homestead families of Eastern Montana...
